The terms and conditions outlined here are to ensure minimal waiting period for use of the Phenotyping Core facilities and to ensure that all users of the facility have equal access. Please read them carefully before proceeding to book the resource.
1. Researchers who wish to use the core facility must have an approved IACUC protocol. The protocol number should be made available to the NMPC Staff. Please arrange to have a discussion with the Core Facility Manager, Dr. Wong Peiyan to determine the feasibility and length of the experiment.
2. Researchers who wish to carry out the experiments themselves, may do so, provided they are adequately trained in the specific test. The Neuroscience and Metabolic Phenotyping Core Staff will provide the required training.
3. For researchers whose IACUC Protocol does not include behavioural assays, please note that the NMPC maintains it's own IACUC approved Protocol. Researchers can choose to either transfer their animals to the NMPC Protocol or transfer the relevant procedure from the NMPC Protocol into their own protocol.
4. It is the responsibility of the researcher to ensure that the room and equipment are cleaned after use.
5. All manuscripts and grants presenting work supported by this core should include the following acknowledgement:
"The behavioural experiments were carried out at the Neuroscience Phenotyping Core Facility, which is supported by the NMRC NUHS Centre Grant - Neuroscience Phenotyping Core (NMRC/CG/M009/2017_NUH/NUHS)."
If you have any questions or concerns about these guidelines, please contact the facility manager. The Phenotyping Core reserves the right to change schedules in case of unforeseen circumstances. Core facility users will be notified immediately if such changes become necessary.
