Workshop on Safety & Crisis Planning & Management For Student Leaders

This workshop will equip student leaders of clubs, societies, halls & residences with the knowledge on how to assess risks/hazards, analyze safety considerations, formulate and implement safety & crisis management plans. It will help them to plan and conduct their events &activities locally as well as overseas safely and successfully. It will be conducted by experienced staff from the Emergency Management Division, Office of Safety, Health & Environment.

The workshop will cover the following topics:

  1. To understand the significance of the Workplace Safety & Health Act (WSHA)
2 To know the approach to Safety & Crisis Management
3 To understand the analytical process in Risk Assessment/hazards and Safety Considerations in organizing events & activities 
4
  1. To plan and discuss various possible problems or situations that can arise when organizing events & activities and how to prevent and/or manage such situations
  2.  

The duration of the workshop is half day (04 hours), conducted in the mornings from 9 am to 1 pm. The 2017 course schedule is as follows:

The capacity for each workshop session is 21 participants and the venue will be at No 2 Prince George's Park (EM Division, OSHE). At the end of the training each participant will be issued a Certificate of Participation for successfully completing the training.
