More than 800 universities have active iTunes sites today. About half of these institutions – including Yale, Stanford, MIT, Oxford, and UC Berkeley, distribute their content publicly on the iTunes U.
Since its launch in August 2010, NUS on iTunes U serves as a great platform for the university to share multimedia content such as videos of public lectures by distinguished speakers as well as research achievements and publications, or to distribute information to students, faculty or lifelong learners all over the world. The contents can be easily downloaded and viewed on computers and other mobile computing devices that support iTunes. They are readily available to students and global audiences whenever and wherever they want.
Besides enabling access to and replay of lectures, it’s also a great tool for sharing other types of content — including slideshows, PDFs, books, films, exhibit tours and audiobooks.
NUS on iTunes U is available at http://itunesu.nus.edu.sg/. Its contents include Life at NUS, Learning at NUS and Research at NUS with active contributions from LKY School of Public Policy, Asia Research Institute, Middle East Institute, Interactive Digital Media Institute and U@Live, just to name a few.
