Wireless Access

Thanks to the pervasive wireless coverage on campus, NUS faculty, staff and students can stay connected anytime and anywhere using their NUSNET account.  But what about invited guests who are here for a short period of time? Or participants of special events organized by NUS who do not have NUSNET accounts?

Fret not as we have two available options for you!

Staff can make use of the NUS Visitor Account Portal, a self-help facility, to create and manage up to 10 visitor accounts for invited guests over a limited time period.  For special events where wireless internet access is needed by the guests, NUS faculty and staff organizing the event can apply for "Event Administrator Access" from the same section in the Staff Portal to create and manage multiple visitor accounts. Simply go to Staff Portal>Information Technology>Internet Access>Visitor access and follow the instructions there.

The second option is via the national Wireless@SG initiative (http://infocomm123.sg/wireless_at_sg/). Computer Centre collaborated with one of the Wireless@SG providers to enable the coverage in any location on-campus by riding on the existing NUS Wireless service without the need to perform any physical installation. Locations on campus such as the Alumni House and FASS canteen are currently provided with this Wireless@SG coverage. For department or faculty requests to activate this service, please send an email to ccenusnetv@nus.edu.sg.
