Objectives
At the end of the course, students are expected to:1. Be able to examine the background and continuum of volunteerism, the relationship between theory and practice in volunteer resources management, 2. Understand the value of volunteers to the nonprofit community and the community–at–large, including ways of measuring and communicating the value of such service 3. Explore and analyze the standards, principles and practices recommended by nationals and leaders for the strengthening of volunteer resources managementand volunteer programmes. 4. Recognize and apply effective practices in the field of volunteerism, including the skills needed to implement such practices and demonstrate an understanding of these practices through the development of a volunteer recruitment action plan and by reviewing a volunteer program of a selected NPO and making recommendations for action5. Understand the complexities of leadership, influence and organizational relationships and structures6. Understand and apply Evidence knowledge and identification of the most salient contemporary issues that confront the practice of volunteer management
