Objectives
Objective:
To acquire a complete set of diagnostic quality views to answer protocol based clinical questions for an eFAST scan
Expected Learning Outcomes:
1. Demonstrate effective use of an ultrasound machine
2. Optimise an ultrasound image
3. Recognise normal ultrasound anatomy and describe using sonographic terminology
4. Acquire images of: Pericardium (subxiphoid view), RUQ, LUQ, pelvis and lung (windows for pneumothorax and pleural effusion)
Learning Strategies:
- Hands-on practical scanning on real volunteers and simulators using a maximum ratio of 1 tutor to 4 students
- Didactic presentations
- Online video, powerpoints and directed reading
- Case study submissions including images, with detailed constructive and honest feedback by a dedicated tutor
- Peer group support forum moderated and assisted regularly by skilled tutors.

Entry Requirements
Qualification: MBBS with SMC registration.
Equipment:
-Regular access to an ultrasound machine and patients.

- Willingness to commit to uploading images and case studies for eligibility to progress to the next level.
-No previous ultrasound experience is necessary.
-A desire to grow professionally.
