Objectives

This foundation course is designed especially for teaching staff and administrative staff who teach, develop and manage educational programmes in medical, dental and other healthcare professions. It consists of 2 parts that learners will have to complete: 5 online modules and 1 face-to-face workshop. The 5 online modules comprise of all the crucial elements in education: curriculum organisation, delivery of instruction and evaluation, assessment and feedback, supporting learners and scholarship of teaching and learning. The face-to-face workshop will enhance their skills and knowledge in education. Learners may choose one of these workshops: i) Interactive Teaching - Learning Strategies in Small and Large Group Settings; ii) Leading and Managing in Medical Education; iii) Ensuring Quality in Health Professional Education The trainers in this course consist of experienced medical educationalists, qualified clinical, allied health and nursing educators, who will share their knowledge and experiences through engaging mini-presentations and case discussions. The aim of this course is to equip health profession educators with knowledge and skills in education so that they are competent in educating future health professionals. These knowledge and skills will be helpful for educators to be proficient in making educational related decisions (such as curriculum development, assessment, quality assurance and leadership).



Who Should Attend

Teaching staff and adminstrative staff involved in teaching, developing and managing educational programmes in medical, dental and other healthcare professions.




Entry Requirements

1. Participants must be appointed by a health professions school/ faculty/ instituition such as polytechnic or ITE to teach or manage a programme 2. If 1 is not applicable, the participants should have at least 1 year of experience in teaching or managing health professionals 3. Must proficient in English
