Objectives
Older people are more likely to fall which can cause serious injuries. The causes of falls in the elderly include muscle weakness, poor balance and vision, low confidence in mobility and the effect of medication. Many studies have shown Tai Chi as one of the most effective approaches for preventing falls and a suitable exercise for people with arthritis. Tai Chi helps leaners to improve their balance, flexibility, fitness, confidence and muscular strength. This course seeks to teach participants about the exercise program, ‘Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention’. The program is easy to learn, helps to relieve pain for people with arthritis, improves their quality of lives and helps in fall prevention for older adults.
