Objectives
Given the continuous change in the skill sets required for many occupations, businesses are redirecting investments to on-the-job training and lifelong learning. To accommodate this shift in trend, our education systems need to keep up with the demands of the labor market to provide the much needed inter-disciplinary and industrially relevant skill sets for workforce as professional chemical process engineers. The Singapore government is synchronising our national efforts to respond to such changes through the introduction of the SkillsFuture scheme. The scheme provides opportunities for Singapore residents to upgrade, enrich, and/or re-invent themselves. The government encourages educational institutions to work with both businesses and public organisations to launch the much needed continuing professional education programmes (CPE).
