Metal Inert Gas
Welding or MIG Welding is
based on the electric arc welding process, where completion of an electric
circuit
between
positive and negative poles creates an electric arc, which generates
tremendous heat permitting the fusion welding of metals.
Because of
its versatility and the ability to weld in a variety of positions,
MIG Welding has become the most popular welding process
used in industry today.
This program looks at all aspects of MIG Welding and includes:
- Tack Welding
- Fillet Weld
- Single V-Butt
- Single V-Butt in the Side Horizontal Position
- Fillet Weld - Vertical Up
- Square Edge Butt Joint on 3mm Plate Metal
The
objective of this program is to highlight the importance of
operating MIG Welding equipment safely as well as to demonstrate
the correct and safe way to perform some of the most common welds.
