NUS is committed to providing initial first aid response to all staff and students in its campus in the event of accident and incident. As part of the commitment, NUS departments are required to appoint first aiders and maintain first aid boxes.

Office of Human Resources (OHR) is the administrator for the training reimbursement for first aid training and Office of Risk Management and Compliance (ORMC) provides policies and guidelines with regards to first aider appointment.

Q1 : How do I register for first aid training?
Ans : You must be department appointed first aider. Thereafter, you can email ohrbox38@nus.edu.sg for the enrolment instruction.

Q2 : How do I make a SSG subsidy claim for first aid training?
Ans : SSG subsidy and other course administrative procedures are handled by OHR. Please contact them at ohrbox38@nus.edu.sg for assistance.

Q3 : Who can be a designated first aider and how many first aider should my department have?
Ans : Refer to the NUS First Aid and First Aiders Manual Section 5.0. Please contact your safety and health officers for the allocated number of first aiders for your department.

Q4 : Will NUS sponsor my first aider training?
Ans : Refer to First Aid Sponsorship Criteria

Q5 : Should I attend Standard First Aid or Occupational First Aid Course?
Ans : Appointed first aiders from lab based departments shall take occupational first aid and first aiders from administrative departments shall take Standard First Aid (SFA) course.
