Yale-NUS College
Bernard Bate Prize
The Bernard Bate Prize was established in memory of Associate Professor Bernard Bate, a member of the inaugural faculty of Yale-NUS College. He was a linguistic and sociological anthropologist whose work involved the theory, ethnography and history of political oratory and rhetoric with a regional focus in the Tamil worlds of South Asia. In recognition of his service and devotion to Yale- NUS College, the Bernard Bate Prize was established with gifts from members of the Yale-NUS community to reflect his generosity and connection to the Yale- NUS family. The Bernard Bate Prize will support a student who produces the best capstone project in Anthropology.

J Y Pillay Study Award
Make a gift to support a study award in honour of Professor J Y Pillay. Professor Pillay is an outstanding civil servant, national policy maker and corporate leader, who transformed all that he touched. He worked alongside Singapore's pioneer leaders, shaping many of the country's eminent institutions including Singapore Airlines, Singapore Exchange and the Development Bank of Singapore.
Toh Chin Chye Study Award
Make a gift to support a study award in honour of Dr Toh Chin Chye. Dr Toh was founding father of modern Singapore and former Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore. Dr Toh left an imprint in the field of education, serving as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Singapore. He is acknowledged for his outstanding contributions and critical role in fostering Singapore's development.
Yale-NUS Alumni Study Award (Endowed)
The Yale-NUS Alumni Study Award aims to provide financial aid to needy students at Yale-NUS College. It also aims to encourage future Yale-NUS alumni to continue the tradition of giving upon their graduation from Yale-NUS College.
