Objectives
At the end of the course, students are expected to:1. Understand what group work entails and examine current theories that inform group work practice in Singapore’s social work.2 Plan and conduct groups with clear needs and goals with an understanding of group work processes.3.Evaluate the group work process and content. 4. Demonstrate understanding of the use of self as a group work facilitator and begin to embark on the process in class.5. Achieve basic competencies needed for group work as well as some elements essential in supervision of group work. 6. Reflect and improve on the current processes they are using and evaluate how the lectures and tutorials are similar or differ from their practice modality.
