Objectives
This course is specially designed to equip participants with comprehensive working knowledge necessary for evidence-based medicine and clinical practice guidelines. Overview of design, implementation and evaluation of the features in clinical information systems will be presented to learners, so as to enhance their understanding of the effectiveness of the clinical decision making process. Learners will be able to identify potential risks and consequential patient safety outcomes. This course will provide a deeper understanding of foundational concepts of clinical decision support systems — an area that utilises both biomedical and computer sciences to enhance effectiveness of the clinical decision making process, where necessary. With increased emphasis on quality and patient safety in provision of care, continuous improvement and innovations to streamline processes effectively is key to higher productivity.
