Objectives
This course provides learners with basic concepts surrounding clinical information systems, with an emphasis on electronic health records, data privacy, clinical configuration, user interface design and computerized physician order entry. It provides an analysis of the role of information and communication technologies in enabling remote patient care and health professional collaboration as part of patient-self management. This is considered with reference to technological, clinical,sociological and policy perspectives. This course will provide a deeper understanding of the issues surrounding telehealth and recognise the value and basis for effective telehealth design with the use of data analytics. The course will describe the practical application of these concepts, including implementation, clinical workflow,privacy and security, certification, medical device integration, and community health information exchange.
