Objectives

On successful completion of this module, students will be able to: 1. Understand the general principles in industrial safety;2. Able to conduct safety risk assessment, including hazard identification, the likely consequence and frequency of occurrence, recommend appropriate control measures to mitigate the risk to acceptable level, implement a programme to maintain the effectiveness during operation, regular audit to achieve continuous improvement; 3. Able to apply the hierarchy of control principles to recommend control measures in controlling the risk identified in risk assessment; 4. Able to implement a safety management system to management the risks identified in the risk assessment and the effectiveness of their control measures; 5. Understand the importance of safety culture and implement programme to cultivate the proper culture to enhance safety management.
