Objectives

1. Demonstrate basic essential in-depth knowledge of microbiology and fundamentals of immunology. 2. Demonstrate understanding of mechanisms of microbial pathogenesis. 3. Demonstrate understanding of common infectious diseases caused by bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic infections. 4. Demonstrate understanding of antibiotics and antimicrobial resistance. 5. Demonstrate understanding of vaccinations for healthcare workers and immunization strategies for diverse populations. 6. Apply the knowledge of microbiology, immunology and microbial pathogenesis to diagnose, treat and prevent bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic infections. 7. Apply knowledge of microbiology, immunology, vaccination and outbreak control to implement strategies for containment and prevention of outbreaks.
