Objectives

Film studies looks at the movie as a cultural subject and asks questions about our interaction with audio-visual media to better understand and contextualize ourselves and the society we live in globally. This course explores a basic introduction to Film Studies with a focus on analysis, discussion, film theory and film history with references to philosophy, media and cultural studies and communication. Learning Objectives:
  • Learn how to analyse audio-visual media in the context of academic discourse
  • Know the storytelling functions that makes stories flow and function
