Objectives

With the signing of the Singapore Convention on Mediation, Mediation has become a practical and business friendly way to resolve commercial disputes. Yet, may business users and lawyers are unaware of the advantages of mediation, and what it is seeking to achieve as a mode of dispute resolution. This workshop will focus on giving participants a working knowledge of how mediation works, its pros and cons, the conflict resolution model used, the process and stages of mediation, learning to facilitate the resolution of a dispute and dealing with the people aspect of any dispute. The workshop will be taught through a mixture of presentations, facilitated discussions and role plays.
