Objectives

Through this module, learners will critically consider both contemporary and historical case studies that are presented through various mediums (e.g., academic essays, newspaper articles, and social media), including evaluating and making inferences using trends evaluation and application. Learners will examine and assess connections between music and other domains on both practical and abstract levels, thereby developing a multidisciplinary awareness and building an understanding of collaborative practices with stakeholders across disciplines. They will extrapolate these connections to the wider world around them and gain a more multifaceted understanding of the role of music. They will also exercise and advance their skills in research design, research and information synthesis, storytelling through various assignments. Learners are encouraged to apply the new perspectives gained in this course to their individual practice, as relevant to their own artistic and professional identity.
