Objectives
At the end of the course, the participants will be able to:
1. Introduce various energy storage technologies for electric vehicles and stationary storage applications.
2. Present their characteristics such as storage capacity and power capabilities.
3. Understand various components and working principles of electrochemical and electrical storage technologies including redox flow, Na-S, Li-ion batteries and supercapacitors.
4. Address the factors affecting the performances of Li-ion battery deployed in various sectors including electric vehicles, stationary energy storage systems, aerospace and marine and finally illustrate a few failure modes causing safety issues.
