Objectives

1.Utilise critical skills of interpreting artworks to gain visual literacy and connecting these artworks to broader contemporary interests and issues. 2. Look at and discuss contemporary artworks in different historical contexts through formal analysis, cultural theories, aesthetics and in assigning meanings and significance to them.3.Contextualise the different environments in which art is produced, circulated and received, through an analysis of artists’ intentions, exhibitions and critical texts that shape and make contemporary art
