Objectives

1.Tutorials and guided assignments will help you develop your reading and writing skills. 2.Students will better appreciate how reading, understanding, and debating about the past are an intrinsic part of contemporary life. 3.Students planning to major or minor in History will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to take advanced modules in the department, whose specializations we will introduce you to. 4. To facilitate learning for people with no prior background in History, students will be set guided writing assignments, with clear instructions aimed at honing their appreciation for and interest in all things historical in Singapore and Asia.
